Terms of use

Effective 4 September 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Reggie for the Reggie website and the Reggie iOS app. They are short on purpose. If something here is unclear, email us and we will explain it plainly.

The agreement

Reggie is provided by Reggie Inc., 1125 E Broadway, Glendale, CA 91205. By creating an account or using Reggie you agree to these terms and to the Privacy policy, which explains what we collect and is part of this agreement.

Who can use Reggie

You must be at least 13 years old to have an account. [Founder decision: confirm the minimum age, 13 is the floor United States law sets]

You can open a shared wishlist, claim an item on it or open a gift sent to you without an account. Those parts of these terms that concern content and conduct apply to you as a guest as well.

Your account

Keep your password and your sign-in email to yourself. Anything done from your account is treated as done by you until you tell us the account was taken over. One person, one account: an account is not to be shared, sold or handed on.

Your username and display name must not impersonate another person or business, and must not be offensive. We may change or reclaim a username that breaks this rule.

What you share

Everything you put into Reggie stays yours: your wishlists, your notes, the photos, videos and voice notes in your gift messages, your comments and your thank-you notes. You give Reggie permission to store that content and to show it to the people you have chosen to share it with, at the privacy level you chose, and to nobody else. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies that have already been delivered to someone else, such as a gift message that its recipient has opened.

You are responsible for what you share. Share only what you have the right to share, which includes the photos, videos and recordings you put in a gift message.

Wishlists, claims and gifts

A wishlist is yours to fill and to share at the privacy level you choose. Public means anyone with the link; friends only means people you have approved; invite only means the people you invite by email.

Claiming an item on someone's list is a courtesy between people, not a contract with Reggie. It marks the item so others know not to buy it and holds it for 30 minutes while you go to the store; after that the item shows as available again unless you have recorded a purchase. Reggie does not check that a claimed item was bought, or that a gift marked as sent was sent.

A gift message opens for its recipient on the date the sender chose. Reggie delivers the reveal link to the recipient but does not deliver parcels, and it cannot promise that the store ships on time.

Store links and purchases

Reggie does not sell products. Every purchase is made on the store's own website, under that store's prices, terms, returns policy and privacy policy. Prices and availability shown in Reggie come from the store's catalogue and can be out of date; the price you pay is the one the store shows at checkout.

Reggie may earn a commission when you buy through a store link. It costs you nothing extra and does not change what you see: products are not ranked or recommended by the commission they pay.

Group funding

Group funding is not yet available: Reggie takes no payments today and has no payment processor. The rules below apply when it opens, and we will tell you inside the app when that happens.

When it opens, group funding will let several people chip in toward one gift. Each contribution will be at least one dollar, a fund cannot be overshot by more than a few dollars, and Reggie will keep a platform fee, set at 5 percent of each contribution, to run the service. If a fund closes without reaching its goal, the contributions will be refunded. [Founder decision: confirm the platform fee and the refund rule before group funding opens]

Card details will be handled by the payment processor, never by Reggie. Contributions will not be donations to Reggie and will not be tax deductible.

What is not allowed

Do not use Reggie to:

  • Harass, threaten, bully or deceive anyone, including in gift messages, comments, thank-you notes or usernames.
  • Share content that is unlawful, that infringes someone's rights, or that is sexual, violent or hateful.
  • Claim items on other people's lists that you do not intend to buy, or otherwise spoil someone's list.
  • Send gifts, invites or friend requests to people who have asked you to stop.
  • Access another person's account, list or gift without their permission, or try to guess invite, reveal or profile links.
  • Scrape Reggie, overload it, probe its security or interfere with anyone else's use of it.
  • Use Reggie for anything that is against the law where you are or where the other person is.

If you break these rules we may remove the content, end your account, and where the conduct is serious, report it to the authorities.

Reporting problems and blocking people

You can report a problem, or a gift message that should not have been sent to you, from inside Reggie. Reports reach a person, and we act on them. You can also remove a friend, decline or remove a follower, or make your profile private, which cuts off what that person could see and send.

Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from Settings on the website or from your profile in the app. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone; the emptied account record is permanently removed after 30 days, as the Privacy policy describes. We may suspend or end an account that breaks these terms, and we will tell you why unless the law prevents it.

Reggie is provided as is

Reggie is in active development. We work to keep it available and correct, but we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error free, or that any store link, price, availability or delivery estimate is accurate. Stores, delivery services and payment processors are not under our control.

[Founder decision: have counsel review the disclaimer and liability cap]

Limits on our liability

To the extent the law allows, Reggie is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for a purchase made at a store, for a gift that does not arrive, or for content another person shares with you. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid Reggie in the twelve months before the claim, which for most people is nothing. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws named here, and any dispute will be heard in the courts named here, unless the law where you live gives you the right to something else. [Founder decision: governing law and venue, California and Los Angeles County follow from the Glendale address]

Changes to these terms

We will change these terms when Reggie changes. The effective date at the top says when the current version took effect. If a change matters, we will tell you inside the app or by email before it applies, and continuing to use Reggie after that is agreement to the new terms.
